A Spirit Inspired Leadership for Educators (ebook)

This book will help you see what Pentecostal leaders think about education and how it should be done. The comparison has always been that there are more successful pastors without seminary education than there are successful pastors with seminary education. This is not the issue; the issue is what the unschooled pastors learned that is making them successful, which the schooled pastors did not learn. How can we get the schooled pastors to learn it? Because the successful unschooled pastors are also very few. They can be counted. There are more successful schooled pastors than there are successful unschooled pastors. We have a few unschooled pastors who have made it big time in their ministry, not Many. The church is still led by seminary graduates, so we cannot take seminary education out of the equation.

The book A Spirit Inspired Leadership for Educators is based on research done among Pentecostal leaders and educators in the Philippines, in order to come up with a model for educational leadership. The goal was to come up with a philosophy, vision, mission and clear goals for educational leadership. Leadership as a discipline is the foundation of the success or failure of an organization or institution. The book is geared towards running successful educational institutions in a Pentecostal context, taking into consideration the fact that theological education is at its lowest point and in need of direction. The principles can however be used in running all Christian organizations. Seminary education has become a laughing stock and churches especially Pentecostal churches are beginning to question the relevance of seminary education. The question is not whether seminary education is relevant or necessary but rather, whether it is properly done or not. That is the crux of the matter. Are educational leaders doing their job well? Education is not just what is done in the classroom at educational institutions. Education can take place outside the classroom. As a matter of fact, people learn better in natural environments than in the classroom. That’s why Mark Twain said, “never let schooling interfere with your education.”  Education therefore is not necessarily schooling. So, the question is how do we get people transformed to what we want them to become?  How do we make effective and efficient leaders? That is what this book is about.

This book will help you see what Pentecostal leaders think about education and how it should be done. The fact is that the church is in trouble because every person is preaching and singing what the people want to hear and they are succeeding in having people attend their churches. That does not necessarily mean that they are successful. Success will be measured when we come face to face with God. The only way we can get people to Christ is through well informed leadership that is based on the word of God. This book is based on what both the schooled and unschooled Pentecostal leaders think about leadership. Reading the book will help you see the missing link in leadership today and direct you towards the right path that will help you build a strong leadership foundation that is rooted in a sound Christian philosophy, vision, mission and goals that will lead to strategic positioning.
